Sichuan Provincial Museum
The Sichuan Provincial Museum, originally known as the Sichuan Museum, is situated at the Renmin South Road in Chengdu City. First built in March 1941 and moved to the present site in 1965, the Museum now covers an area of 46,000 square meters.
The Museum boasts a collection of more than 160,000 cultural relics telling the story of Sichuan, with over 2,000 of the first and second class. Exhibits include the skull of Ziyang Man from 30,000BC, a human face stone baldric of the Neolithic Age unearthed in Wushan County, a bronze sword of 62cm long produced in the Warring States Period (475-221BC) excavated in Chongqing City, which is a precious reference to the study of Bashu Culture (Bashu is the ancient name of the region), etc. Displays of tiled murals, frescoes and stone inscriptions taken from tombs dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220AD) hold an important position among all cultural relics in the Museum.

The basic displays of Historical Relics of Sichuan and the Revolutionary Heritage of Sichuan exhibit altogether about 4,000 pieces and take up an exhibition area of about 3,000 square meters.
The Display of Historical Relics of Sichuan exhibits large quantities of caput bone fossils, stone tools, pottery, bronze weapons, porcelains and seals spanning the years from the Neolithic Age to the Qing Dynasty (1368-1911), paintings and artworks of famous painters and sculptors of the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties, and other ancient collections related to the ethnic minorities in the region.
The Display of Revolutionary Heritage of Sichuan exhibits weapons and documents of the revolutionists in the early 20th century, especially some precious relics of the Red Army, from which visitors can have a glimpse of the Long March.
Publications of the Museum include picture albums of Facsimiles of Zhang Daqian's Dunhuang Murals and Boat Coffins of Sichuan, etc.

Sichuan University Museum
Situated in Sichuan University of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, the Sichuan University Museum is the first comprehensive museum founded inside colleges and universities in China and the earliest built musenm in the southwest China. The preparation for the construction in 1914, and the museum
was first completed in 1919. Previously named the Huaxi University Museum, the museum was renamed the Sichuan University History Museum in 1952, and got the current name in 1984. The museum boasts a collection of over 40,000 cultural relics. Exhibits include costumes and artifacts from minorities in Sichuan Province, and sculptures, paintings, calligraphic works and artworks from the past dynasties.
Sichuan University Museum has many exhibition halls, including the exhibition hall of folklore, the exhibition hall of customs, the exhibition hall of writing and paintings, the exhibition hall of Tibetan arts, the exhibition hall of revolutionary relics and the exhibition hall of sculptures. The museum is the research center for archaeology and folklore of Southwest China, and for the history and culture of Southeast Asia.
Sichuan University Museum is dedicated to creating a better understanding of the cultural and historic world and our ancient civilization in Southwest China. The museum is responsible for collections of cultural heritage, and for sharing the knowledge that makes them meaningful.

Sichuan Science and Technology Museum
It is a museum about science and technology in Sichuan. It was the Sichuan Provincial Exhibition Hall (SCPEH) until 2006. The museum includes airplanes, flying saucers, 3D movies, robots and interactive model rockets.
