According to Development Planning Commission of Tibet Autonomous Region, the investment in construction on Qinghai-Tibet Railway during the 10 Five-year Planning will brought a revenue of 4 billion yuan to the region.

The total investment in the construction on Qinghai-Tibet Railway is 16 billion yuan. As the investment increases, the local economy and industry will be speeded up. It is estimated that the construction will offer about 100,000 jobs directly and indirectly, among which 50 percent are belong to service industry.
