Though the entire line of Qinghai-Tibet railway won't be put into operation until 2007, professional reserve is already in action. The first batch of 16 Tibetan graduates from inland China universities and colleges are practising at Golmud. Here they have an opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world experience.
This preparation under the guidance of seasoned railway workers has been proved effective before newly-grads take responsibility for posts. At the same time, some 500 other Tibetan students organized by the government are being trained at various vocational schools in neighbouring provinces for junior talents need.
