After 60-day preparation, the first mountaineering group from Xinjiang, Xinjiang Beer Qomolangma Expedition successfully ascended the Qomolangma (also known as Everest in the west) on May 16, according to Wang Tienan, a famous mountaineering guide to the Xinjiang expedition.
The Expedition has come back to the camp at 6,500 meters on May 17. All the five members except for a female one suffering from plateau illness have climbed to the top of Qomolangma.
