Day by day itinerary
Day1: Arrival at Lhasa
Our guide will pick up you from airport or trainstation and then transfer to hotel. Have a rest in your hotel.
Day2:Lhasa Sightseeing
After breakfast, we will visit Potala, the religio-political center of Old Tibet; Jokhang, final destination of all sects; and Norbulinkha, Dalai Lama’s summer palace.
Day3:Lhasa - Shigatse
Day tour to Shigatse, the capital of Rear Tibet, via Yamdrok, the sacred lake. On the way, you have a chance to visit Gyantse, the typical Tibetan town. Visits to Pelkor Chode & Shalu. Stay overnight in Shigatse.
Day4: Shigatse - Tingri
Visit to Tashilhumpo, Panchan Lama’s seat. Then ride to Tingri, where a nice view of Mt Cho Oyu, Everest and Lhotse is behold. Guesthouse.
Day5: Tingri - Rongbuk
After breakfast, ride to Rongbuk which is built in 1899 and is the highest Monastery in the world. Then take yakcart to Base Camp. Guesthouse.
Day6: Rongbuk - Sakya
If you are lucky enough, you will see sunrise at E.B.C. Late morning, start riding to Sakya, visit Sakya Monastery, the premier monastery of Grey Sect or Sakya in Tibetan. Guesthouse.
Day7: Sakya - Lhasa
Drive back from Sakya to Lhasa.
Day8: Lhasa sightseeing
Visit to Drepung- the largest of Monastery in Tibet & Sera, both subject to Gelik.
Day9: Lhasa - Reting
After breakfast, ride to Ganden, the premier monastery of Yellow Sect or Geluk in Tibetan. Overnight in Reting Guesthouse.
Day10: Reting - Trupu
Today, drive about 65km to Namtso (4718m), known as the Holly Lake in Tibet. Afternoon ride to Tsurpu, the premier monastery of White Sect or Karma Kagyu in Tibetan.Guesthouse.
Day11:Trupu - Tsetang
Drive to Songkha Ferry, 1.5-hour boating across Yarluzangbo and 0.5-hour ride to Samye(built in 8th century), the premier monastery of Red Sect or Nyingma in Tibtan.Afternoon ride to Tsetang Town, the cradle of Tibetan civilization. Visit Yumbulagang(built in 2nd century B.C), 1st Tibetan King’s Castle Via Trandruk Monastery, in which Pearl Thangkha is kept.
Day12:
Lhasa- Airport or Railway
Drop-off & exit.
