Day 1 Arrive in Chengdu
Place & Transport: Arrival at Chengdu
Today's Activities: Arrival at Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu and our driver will pick up you at the railway station or airport. Then transfer to hotel, the rest of the time will be your own.

Day 2 Chengdu-Panda Base-Sanxingdui-Xichang

Today's Activities: Visit Panda base and Sanxingdui Museum, and take train to Xichang

In the morning, at 07:30am, the driver and the guide pick up you from the hotel and drive you to the Giant Panda Breeding Reaesrch Base to see cute pandas. The Giant Panda has its habitat exclusively in China. It is known worldwide as a rare treasure, a symbol of auspiciousness and friendship and a messenger of peace. the Chengdu Panda Base has not only dedicated itself to giant panda conservation, but has also made great efforts to combine natural scenery and man-made landscapes to create wonderful and humane living areas for giant pandas, red pandas, and other Chinese endangered animals. You spend almost half day at the base and leave at 11:30am normally. And the driver drives you to Sanxingdui Ruins.

Sanxingdui Ruins, is the ruins of the Bronze Age in the middle and late Shang Dynasty. The name was entailed for that its appearance resembles three earth pits. The excavation began in 1980. Two large sacrificial pits of the Sanxingdui were unearthed in 1986, becoming instant stirring news in the whole world. More than a thousand pieces of priceless treasures were dug out, including bronze wares, jade wares, ivories, shells, earthen wares, gold wares, etc. The bronze wares include vessels, weapons, large standing human figures, head portraits, animal figures, and masks etc. You will be shocked by the amazing and mystic culture originated 4,500 years. After finish visiting, drive to train station to take the night train to Xichang.

Day 3 Xichang

Xichang City locates in southwest Sichuan province. And it was awarded one of the ten small cities worthy of visiting in China. There are Han, Yi, Hui, Tibetan and altogether 28 nationalities in Xichang. Majority are Han people. At present, Xichang is well known in the world as one of the three largest aerospace base in China. And at the same time, Xichang is an important city which is the center of political, economic, culture and transportation in Panzhihua-Xichang area. Nowadays, more and more tourists are traveling in Xichang for its unique scenery and amorous feeling.

You will have a chance to visit Xichang Space Center, Rocket and Launch Center, Mt.Lu and Yi Minority Museum. Overnight in Xichang.

Day 4 Xichang-Panzhihua city

In the early morning, drive to Panzhihua from Xichang. It is about 192km with 3 hours' driving. Panzhihua locates in the southwest Sichuan province which is the only city in China having a name of a flower, and its economy relies almost entirely on its giant mine, one of the biggest in China. And it is an emerging steel industrial city.

You have a chance to visit Ertan Scenic Area which is Consisting of Ertan National Forest Park and Ertan Hydropower Station. The scenic area boasts verdant mountains and forest, as well as the largest hyperbolic arch dam in Asian, and several islets in the reservoir. Overnight in Panzhihua city.

Day 5 Panzhihua city-Lugu Lake

After breakfast, we will head to Lugu Lake and arrive in the late afternoon. Check in local hostel and you can choose to have fire party with Mosuo people, enjoy yourself in the party.

Day 6 Lugu Lake

Lugu Lake is known as the "Plateau Pearl". It is a national 4A level scenic spot. You have a full day sightseeing. The Lake is encircled with hills. The water is so clean and attracting, with fish swimming in it. The forest around is dense and the air is fresh. This is a place where is little tainted by modern industry - the natural beauty is retained. You can take "Pig Bowl Boat'' to visit the lake. Visit Mosuo villages in the afternoon and eat Mosuo food. Overnight in local residence of Mosuo People.

The lake's shores are inhabited by many minority ethnic groups, such as the Mosuo, Norzu, Yi, Pumi and Tibetan. The most numerous of them are Mosuo people. It is the only existing matriarchal society in China today. Men and women are not bound by marriage, each living at one's mother's home. Men work at home during the day and spend their night with the women they love in the ladies' homes. Children are under the care of and supported by their maternal families.

Day 7 Lugu Lake-Lijiang

In the morning, drive to Lijiang city from Lugu Lake. It is 5-6 hours' driving which depends on the road condition with about 280km. You can choose to enjoy the Naxi ancient music show. Overnight in Lijiang.

Day 8 Lijiang

Today's Activities: Lijiang town one day tour

You have a full day Lijiang inner city tour today. LijiangOldTownhas a history of more than 800 years. It's famous for its orderly system of waterways and bridges, and was named as one of the World Cultural Heritages by UNESCO in 1997. And drive you toBaishaVillageto visit the local Naxi family and Basha Mural Painting. You can experience the local people's life and their traditional culture. After lunch, drive toJadeDragonSnowMountainfor climbing.JadeDragonSnowMountainis the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere. It stretches a length of 35 kilometers and a width of 20 kilometers. In the evening, enjoy Music show of Dongba People at the ancient town.

Day 9 Lijiang-Panzhihua-Chengdu

Today's Activities: Back to Panzhihua, and train to Chengdu

Leave Lijiang for Panzhihua by car and then take night train to back to Chengdu. Overnight on the train.
