For A Greener Mt. Everest: The Previous Tourist EBC Site Was Moved to Rongbuk Area

The administration of Everest would not allow any traveller to go further than Rongbuk monastery since Dec 2018. The current tourist EBC (altitude 5200m) will be moved back to near the monastery (altitude 5150m ).
There are great views on Mount Everest from Rongbuk as well. The view from Rongbuk,the world’s highest Buddhist monastery, is phantastic and not much different from the EBC or the furthest point you where allowed to go as a tourist.

Yumblkhang Palace was reopened to travelers in May 2019 after a long repair and maintenance since Aug 2017.
