Shoton Festival Holy Lhasa 5-day Tour

Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa

Meet the guide at Lhasa train station or airport , have a good rest to acclimatize the high altitude in the afternoon. Have Tibetan dinner in the evening. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 2 Lhasa One Day Tour

Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple today. You will visit the World Heritage Sites of  Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple and explore the bustling bazaar along the Barkhor Street. Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 3 Shoton Festival/ Drepung Monastery/Sera Monastery

Today is the first day of Shoton Festival, you will be arranged to see Big Thangka displaying in the early morning at Drepung Monastery, a lot of Lamas of Drepung Monastery spread out the giant 'Thangka' of Buddha in dawn,then thousands of followers hold their breath and feel the baptism of their hearts.Next, horns blare, all Lamas read the scripture and pray, followers present Khada to the 'Thangka' and touch the 'Thangka' by forehead to show devotion.This ceremony shows that Shoton festival begins.In the afternoon,we will visit Sera Monastery . Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 4 Lhasa sightseeing

Today one more day in Lhasa to feel and enjoy the activities of Shoton Festival. Morning to see Tibet Opera at Summer Palace - Nobulingka,in the afternoon,we will head to visit the Drak Yerpa Monastery , lies about 16km northeast of Lhasa,one of the holiest cave retreat

Overnight at Lhasa.

Day 5 Leave Tibet.

Transfer to the airport or train station. End the tour.
