Heavy rainfalls to persist in S China

Time: 2012/4/15

BEIJING - The National Meteorological Center said Sunday that heavy rainfalls will hammer south China over the next three days.

Regions south of the Yangtze River and south China will experience heavy rains from Sunday to Tuesday, with some areas seeing rainstorms, the center said in a statement on its website.

Meanwhile, a cold front will hit North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and northeast China over the next three days, bringing strong winds and dropping temperatures by up to 12 degrees Celsius, the center said.

Parts of Qinghai and Sichuan provinces and Tibet autonomous region will see moderate to heavy snow from Sunday to Tuesday, it added.

The center said most northeastern spring farming areas will unlikely see much rain over the next three days, but forecast light rain in the region's eastern parts on Sunday.
