Spring ploughing ceremony will begin in March
Just after Chinese Spring Festival and Tibetan New Year, people in Tibet still immerse themsleves in reunions and festivities. And at the same time, they are ready for the coming of entirely New 2013.
The laborious Tibetans begin to spring ploughing in March. By their own faith tradtion, farmers will hold a solemn spring ploughing ceremony before ploughing for the good harvest year in 2013. During ceremony, in their traditional attire, they lead their yaks or tractors to field and choose a place in the land to put the offerings, such as the highland barley wine, buttered tea for sacrifices to heaven.
