Spring ploughing ceremony will begin in March

Just after Chinese Spring Festival and Tibetan New Year, people in Tibet still immerse themsleves in reunions and festivities. And at the same time, they are ready for the coming of entirely New 2013.

The laborious Tibetans begin to spring ploughing in March. By their own faith tradtion, farmers will hold a solemn spring ploughing ceremony before ploughing for the good harvest year in 2013. You should not miss the lightspot of this ceremony if you want to get closer to the Tibetan culture and life.

During ceremony, in their traditional attire, they lead their yaks or tractors to field and choose a place in the land to put the offerings, such as the highland barley wine, buttered tea  for sacrifices to heaven. While the women will dance and sing and spread seeds when the men loosen the land by tractors or yaks for ceremony show.
