Two sepcial activities in Tibet- casting dry tsampa and oxhorn

With the end of of the Tibetan Now year, there are two special activities on the 15th day of January in the Tibetan calendar(25th,Feb,2013). What's them? let's show you more details and make you have chance to feel and touch the attractive culture in Tibet. 

 

First special activity-casting dry tsampa

 

 

Dry tsampa is a white and dry power which is originally from highland barley. It's also the staple food in local family. At that day, people will go to the street or square to casting the dry tsampa to others who standing in street or square for praying the good harvest and good luck.

 

 

If you don't wanna to be a full white man with tsampa, you have to run away of the tsampa and casting the tsampa to others. but, in fact, everyone are white man at last.

 

Second special activity-casting oxhorn by stone

 

 

Another activity at that day, the young men and middle-aged men will stand a line where is 10 meters away of the oxhorn. And the womem stands along with the prize-tsampa.

 

 

If someone hits the oxhorn, he will gets the tsampa and others will be run three ronuds with the oxborn.
