Fly to the holy city of Lhasa, capital of the mystical Buddhist Kingdom of Tibet. You are greeted by tour guide at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure for you to relax and adjust to the high altitude. | |

Day 2 Lhasa one day tour |

Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhore Street |

Tour starts from the religious Potala Palace (3700 m )built in the 7th century by the famous Tibetan king-Songtzen Gampo. The present one was built by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It became known as the "Winter Palace" by the 1750, when the 7th Dalai Lama built the Norbulingka Park as his summer residence. After lunch, you will visit Jokhang Temple, situated in the old section of Lhasa. King Songtzen Gampo built this temple in the mid-7th century A.D. Now it is the most sacred place in Tibet. Pilgrims come here to pay homage from all over Tibet. Visit Barkhore Street in the evening.

Drepung Monastery, Norbulingka |
|
Full day sightseeing takes you to Drepung Monastery which is the largest of the monastery of the Gelug Sect in Tibet. After that, you will visit Norbulingka Park. In 1752, the 7th Dalai Lama built the first palace here for successive Dalai Lamas to carry out their political and religious activities during the summer season. Then, get on a shared landcruiser driving towards Zhangmu. | |

Arrive Zhangmu in the morning,take a taxi to Nepal border,cross the Friendship Bridge, get to Nepal
Notes: Enter Nepal from Zhangmu, you only need the arriving visa. Zhangmu port begins to release people at 10:00 am in the morning. There are local buses or private cars provided for tourists from Zhangmu to Kathmandu. It is 117km from Zhangmu to Kathmandu and 5 hours' driving in normal conditions.
This tour is made normally in winter after November when there are several tourists who would like to join in the group tour.

Matters needing attention
1. Minor program changes sometimes are necessary, depending on road conditions, weather and availability of vehicle seats.Sometimes it may extend one day, the travellers need however bear the cost of food and accommodation required.
2. Health consultation from your doctor before you come to highland (Over than 3000M).
3. As we travel in Tibet area where the economy is much more backward than other places, the food alternative is limited, so we suggest you take some solid food.
4. Please book at least one week ahead of your departure so that we have enough time to get your permit and book the shared vehicle.The vehicle will be mainly landcruiser,sometimes minivan.
