Tibet Attractions - Ngari
- Khorchak Monastery
Khorchak Monastery is located in Burang County of Ngari Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
- Birds' Paradise: Pangong Tso Lake
Located in the northwest of the Rutok County of Tibet's Ngari Prefecture, Pangong Tso Lake is one of the three major boundary lakes in China.
- Rutok Ancient Petroglyphs
Rutok Ancient Petroglyphs were found at several sites in Rotok County in 1985.The extensive collection of rock carvings at Rumudong is right beside the road, about 96km north of Ali. Travelling north from Ali, start looking on the east side of the road at kilometre marker 970. The Petroglyphs would be at around 967.
- Panggong-tso
Panggong-tso, which means 'the long, narrow enchanting lake' in Tibetan, is located about 8km of Rutok Xian which is 132km from Ali.
- Tholing Monastery
Meaning "to fly and never fall", Tholing is famous through Ngari, founded by Yeshi-O, an outstanding king of Guge Kingdom at the beginning of 10th century. Yeshi-O was a devout Buddhist, who ever sent 21 youths to learn Tantric Buddhism in Kashmir.
- The Guge Kingdom
The Guge Kingdom is not only a wonder of Nagri, but also Tibet. In the mid - nine century, the Tubo imperial court came to an end. The offspring of the King Namdam established their own kingdoms and Gyede Nyinmagong became the king of Ngari. The second son of his three sons occupied Zarang and established the Guge Kingdom.
- Lake Manasarovar
About 30km to the south of Mt. Kailash, Lake Manasarovar ( 4560m ), or Maphamyumtso (Victorious Lake) in Tibetan, is the most venerated of Tibet's many lakes, and one of the most beautiful.
- Zanda Earthen Forests
The orogenic movement of the Himalaya has made the bottom of the lake ascend. And the undulating earthen forest of dozens of kilometers were formed by the flushing of water subsidence and long years of wethering . Walking in these narrow earthen forests as if a walk in the ruins of an ancient kingdom, desolate but magnificient.
- Mt. Kailash
Mt Kailash, at 6714m, is not the mightiest of the mountains in the region but, with its hulking shape - like the handle of a millstone, according to Tibetans - and its year-long snow-capped peak, it stands apart from the pack. The mountain is known in Tibetan as Kang Rinpoche, or "Precious Jewel of Snow".
- Namnani Peak
Namnani Peak is located in Burang County, the peak is 7,694 meters high. It is 81.3 ngitude east, 30.4 titude north, and is one of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. It is located near Lake Manasarova (Mapam Tso in Tibetan), facing Mt. Kailash, (Gang Rimpoche in Tibetan) in the north across the lake.
