Film for Shanghai Expo continues shooting in Tibet

A short film titled "Heavenly Tibet" expected to be shown at the World Expo 2010, which is set to open on May 1 in Shanghai, continues shooting in Tibet.

The film will be screened around the clock at Tibet's 600-square-meter exhibition in China's joint provincial pavilion at World Expo 2010.

Lu Na, producer of the film, told CTIC, an inchoate segment has been formed before this with more than one-month shooting in winter. This time, the staff is going to shoot some more beautiful sceneries and featured scenes which they have missed in winter.

To quicken the pace, two groups are now working in Lhasa and Nyingchi at the same time. The Lhasa group focuses on screening the unique architectures, city landscapes and urban life of Lhasa citizens while the Nyingchi group is shooting peach blossom, spring plowing and other featured scenes.

Losang Gyatso, chief editor as well as cultural adviser of the film, said till now, some still asked him if there was a supermarket in Lhasa since they were ignorant about the current life in Tibet. He hoped the film can not only show Tibet's splendid landscapes, but also reflect the living condition of people living in new Tibet.

The film will be handed over to have trial screen at the Tibet Pavilion on April 15.

After the Expo, the film will be aired as a promotional film. The world's highest railway, the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, will be highlighted to show the superb ecology.
